Lake Rotoiti School is a small, rural school situated close to the Nelson Lakes National Park. Currently the school has two classes (Year 1 ??? Year 4 and Year 5 ??? Year 8 ) and is funded for 2.34 teachers.
Lower Moutere School draws its student population from the closely populated rural Moutere valley and Mariri coastal region, the Lower Moutere settlement, as well as from some families in the Motueka Township.
Mahana school is a full rural school approximately 30 minutes away from Nelson City. There are 3 classes, children range in age from 5 to 13. It's closest towns are Richmond and Motueka, around 15 minutes to either.
Maitai School offers specialised programmes for students with a variety of special needs, intellectual and/or related disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorders between the ages of five and twenty-one.
