Our Mission is
To promote, initiate and support projects and
activities that stimulate and strengthen the artistic
and cultural life of our communities.
We do this through listening to our community .......... and by
- Providing information about upcoming arts events and opportunities
- Offering free advice and support from our offices in the Nelson CBD
- Administering the Creative Communities
- Local Arts Funding Scheme Offering both bi-annual and monthly funding rounds
- Having user friendly and informed staff on-hand to help with all enquiries
- Providing exhibition space in a central Nelson location to emerging artists and community groups
- Co-ordinating the annual Impressions & Arts Council Nelson Regional Art Awards
- Producing Monthly Arts Events Calendars
- Proactive and reactive initiation of projects and workshop programmes
